This is necessary for the Meet the Firms event, interviews and office visits.
Men: Suit (usually a dark color ex. blue, black, olive, brown), White shirt, Dark dress shoes, Trouser socks, Contrasting tie (looks best, but if you're not sure, go with a tie that blends in). It is very important that you look sharp, even if you have an old suit make sure that it is clean and pressed. Shoes should be polished and socks should not stand out. Invest in a new shirt and make sure it is freshly pressed, it will make all the difference in the world and will help make an older suit look better.
Women: Suit (a skirt suit at knee or ankle length or a pantsuit, it is usually not appropriate for the skirt to go more than an inch above the knee). Dark or natural colors are appropriate, but nothing too bright or flashy should be worn. Shirt should also be of a conservative nature, either button-up or a conservative neckline. Shoes should be dark in color and conservative. Open toed shoes, sandals, or flashy in nature are not appropriate. Make-up and hair should look clean and fresh. Keep jewelry to a minimum (watch, ring, small earrings, etc. - Don't over do it).
Make sure everything is pressed and sharp.
You want to stand out with the help of your appearance, not because of your appearance.
BUSINESS CASUAL
Appropriate for recruiting events and when noted by the firms.
Nice shirt with a collar and dress pants or skirts. (Women may wear sweater sets, but nothing sleeveless). Nice khaki pants are appropriate.
Jeans, T-shirts, and denim skirts are not appropriate.
If you are not sure what to wear, it is a good idea to overdress because your appearance says a lot about you.
Be thoughtful of the professionals, they take time to meet with you and do not want to be offended by your appearance.
